About Us - The Harvest Story
Harvest Bible Church - Detroit West started in 2003 as an independent, non-denominational church. The church’s start in Canton, a western suburb of Detroit, included 13 adults and a handful of children worshiping in the basement of a home.
Through the following years God provided temporary worship spaces at the Plymouth Elk’s Lodge, Michigan Theological Seminary, Discovery Middle School, Dodson Elementary, and Johnson Upper Elementary. Harvest also utilized an office/ministry center in Canton which enabled the church to grow and ministries to develop.
Early in 2011 God graciously provided a permanent building in Westland (formerly Patchin Elementary), and the church became Harvest Detroit West. Our new building opened for worship in May, and since then God has been multiplying our opportunities for discipleship. We invite you to come join us for a Sunday service to see for yourself what God is doing at Harvest. Without any reservation, we believe that you will experience God like never before... We can say this because we see Him at work in our lives each week and we are not the same because of it!
Our Mission (what we desire to do): To Honor God through the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) in the spirit of the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40).
Our Vision (who we desire to be): To become a vibrant, loving, diverse body of believers who worship Christ whole-heartedly, walk with Christ faithfully, work for Christ selflessly, and witness for Christ boldly.
Motto (what we desire to be known for): Harvest is where the Word of God is preached without apology and people are loved unconditionally.
